The Never-Ending Gobstopper

In my continuing quest to find things to do in SLC that are free, I happened upon the Sweet's Candy Factory tour (Yes, the owners really are the Sweet family. I guess it was fate they produce candy). As some of you may know, I have a strange fascination with factories. I think the fascination is in seeing the way people have designed the factory machines.
The tour was AMAZING! As you can imagine, the best part was eating candy right off the assembly line. It reminded me of the episode of King of the Hill where Bobby becomes obsessed about eating a corn chip hot off the assembly line. And when he does, it is pure bliss. That is exactly how it felt to eat a chocolate covered peanut cluster while is was still warm. It was definitely the best candy moment I have had in my life.

Somehow the tour ended up at the candy factory store where you can buy all the candy that is produced in the factory. Needless to say, a huge bag of candy went home with me that day.

** Note: This factory tour is available on the SLC guided tour. Please request in advance, reservations are required.

Well that explains why you are so sweet. It's because you eat a lot of candy. Here I thought you were born that way!! (Ha! Ha!)

How fun! I wish I could have enjoyed all the wonderful candy with you! Did it remind you of Willy wonka's chocolate factory?
