Week 40

Waiting...

Waiting for this baby to come has been filled with ups and downs. I have some good moments of being alright with whenever Miles decides to arrive. Those are my Zen moments. Then, I have moments of being uncomfortable, moody, and having an extremely difficult time not being in control of the situation. This is definitely not an easy situation for a "Type A" personality like mine to deal with.  As I have said, I am sure this is just a test for me, and it is teaching me patience and faith.

It has helped to have some projects to work on for Miles. Somehow this makes me feel connected to him and excited about the next phase. I have made a few gifts for him in the past week. If he would just come out, I could give them to him!

Car Seat Cover

I made a car seat cover out of a cute elephant material. This is a lightweight cover to use when he is sleeping and we are out and about. Then you can just flip the cover over to peek in or show this cute baby off to the world. It has Velcro attachments to keep it on the car seat.

Crinkle Tag Blanket

The latest baby craze are tag blankets. This small 12" x 12" blanket is designed for a sensory experience. The tags are fun for babies to play with. Then as an extra sensory experience, I added plastic inside the blanket to make a crackle noise when touched.

Door Jammer

I know I will be one of those new moms that wants to check on Miles about a million times when he is sleeping. So, this little door jammer allows the door to shut, but without the noise of the door "click." It was easy and quick to make.

Due Date!

Today is my official due date. I honestly didn't think I would still be pregnant at this point. It has been hard to come to terms with going past my due date. It is a date you keep in your mind for months as a goal. Now I am just working on being alright with going past it.

I have faith that Miles is going to come when he is supposed to come. It is more a lesson in patience for me. Patience and faith are what I will be focusing on today.

Week 39

Last pre-baby project done

Ok Miles, today we finished the last project we wanted to get done before you arrived. We are officially ready now.

The house is clean, we are rested, we had a movie date night last night...basically, we want you to arrive!

I have three days left until my due date. I am still feeling alright, just ready to meet our son.

After sleeping in (something we know won't happen for a while) we finished clearing out the garage so I can park in there again. Mostly this is so my car isn't too hot or cold for the baby. Plus, I don't have to shovel snow off my car in the winter!

We rented a truck and loaded it up with wood and junk from the garage. Then it was off to the SLC landfill. What a strange experience. You pay $10 and then just dump all your crap in a pit. We are pretty sure by the type of people that were there, that some dead bodies might have been thrown in along with old couches and roof shingles. It was actually kind of fun to chunk things into the pit.

We got back home and pulled my car into its new spot!

Little Man Shower

A few weeks ago, I had a "Little Man" shower thrown by my SLC girls Sarah, Jessica, and Melissa. The Little Man theme could not have been cuter. There were mustaches and bow ties galore. I felt so loved. What a wonderful party. I hope Miles knows how lucky he is!

Mustache mason jars.
Door hanger to welcome guests.
Center pieces.
Present 'stache.
Onesies made by Sarah. The mustache one is in our hospital bag!
There was a mustache photo booth.

Grant is 30

Grant turned 30 today. I am really still hoping that Miles arrives today, but as the hours tick along, that seems less and less of a possibility.

For Grant's birthday present, I got him 30 of his favorite things. Seemed like a nice way to celebrate.

Pregnancy inducing pizza?

Today, Sarah and I had lunch at Cafe Trio where they have a pizza that supposedly induces labor. I am hoping that it does the trick. It would be fun to go into labor today and have Miles tomorrow on Grant's 30th birthday.
