Fellow Farewell Dinner

This week, we had Grant's fellow farewell dinner. His colleagues gave him a beautiful framed photograph of Southern Utah and his attending gave him an amazing bolo tie! The bolo tie has importance because the attending Grant trained under always wears one. It is his signature mark. So, each year, he orders a special bolo tie for his graduating fellows. Grant is now in the bolo tie club!

Time to LAUGH

SMILE, THINK, PEACE, CREATE, RESPECT, and now LAUGH. These are the words that have been written into the garden bed at our favorite park since we have lived here. And I do have to say, I need to stop and laugh a little more right now. We only have SIX more days in Utah and it is really getting sad. All the goodbyes are emotionally draining. A bright future awaits us, but that doesn't make it any easier to say goodbye to a place you have lived for five years.

Father's Day

Father's Day was a blast. Miles actually slept in past 7:00 am! Then we spent a good part of the day enjoying Grant's new soccer ball at the park. Grant is simply an amazing father. He loves Miles with all his heart and they have such a strong bond already.

Eight and Nine Months

Miles has changed so much the last two months. He is now crawling everywhere and gaining speed everyday. He has started pulling up. He can pick up small pieces of food and feed himself. His voice is getting loud and he is starting on "P" and "F" noises. He is the happiest baby and seems to just love exploring the world. He now weighs 20 pounds! We are lucky to have close friends who love babysitting Miles. With all our farewell get togethers, we have been leaning on friend support quite a bit. And Miles doesn't seem to mind it one bit. I think he is having the time of his life!

Rachel Visit

We also got a visit from Rachel a few weeks ago. It has been so nice to live in neighboring states the past few years. Now we will have to work a little harder to see each other.

Scott and Pam Visit

We had a wonderful visit from Scott and Pam. This was the big "meet Miles" trip. He was being pretty darn cute during the visit and loved all the extra attention. Plus, we snuck in lots of park trips and fabulous cooking.
