Comfort food is the best medicine

Grant and I are definitely still adjusting to his intern schedule. As you can imagine, taking overnight call every forth night and working 80 hours a week has been rough on both of us. It is taking every ounce of strength for Grant to stay awake and alert and it is taking every ounce of strength for me to stay upbeat and positive. I just wish I could somehow sleep and transfer the energy to him. The only way I can help him is to be the supportive wife and make sure he eats and has clean clothes.

After a particularly rough day last week I surprised him with some comfort food. There is just nothing like comfort food to make you feel loved and taken care of. I attempted to make Persian rice and salmon and somehow it worked! I think God must have been on my side that day. The look on Grant's face when he saw the food made the hours of trying to figure out how to cook it all worth it.

Way to go, Anna. I think Grant would agree that nothing makes this worthwhile more than knowing you're in this with him. He can't do it without you. I'm so glad he has you!!!!
Love ya,
Sherry
