On Tuesday, we set out on a six hour hot springs adventure. Down in American Fork canyon, hidden at the end of an hour-long hike, are pockets of natural hot springs. After driving an hour and a half, we arrived at the trail head. We bundled up in ski clothes and hiked along a snowy path. The only way to describe the hike was stunning. Once we made it to the hot springs, we enjoyed a nice long soak in the springs (in our swim suits, not skinnydipping!). The hard part was being soaking wet and getting back out into the cold. But it was worth it in the end. The pictures don't do it justice.
On Thanksgiving day we woke up early to start cooking. One of Leah's requests while she was out here was to learn how to make tamales from scratch. So we did! It was a long cooking morning, but we were together and that was what made it all worth it. We also made dressing and cranberries. We had Thanksgiving dinner at Sarah and Scott's house. Sarah did a great job hosting, and we ate like kings.
