Sundancers

Millie came out to visit and see some Sundance films. She arrived with her usual "taste of Texas" treats. It has become a tradition.

And how does a great mother daughter trip begin? With Oprah, champagne, goat cheese, and olives!

The first film we saw was at Sundance Resort. It was a documentary about Indonesia called, "Position Among the Stars." It was a beautiful film that transported us to another world. We finished the day with a meal at the resort.
Really interesting wall in the restaurant.
Sundance Resort.
On Saturday, we ventured up to Park City for some star searching. This wasn't just any star searching, but star searching for the extremely dedicated. After we parked (which was an ordeal in itself), it started snowing hard. It was freezing and slippery to walk and just miserable. We saw a few stars, but didn't last too long out in the bitter cold.

I love her expression.
Janet Montgomery from Entourage and Black Swan.

Some guy that I feel is famous but I can't tell who. Grant thinks it's Orlando Jones. Any help here?
Millie and Chaz Bono (son of Sonny and Cher).
One of the highlights of the festival was seeing "Pariah." It was a powerful film about being comfortable with who you are. The Q&A at the end of the film included most of the cast.

Pariah cast.

Lead actress Adepero Oduye.
Supporting actress Aasha Davis. We also knew her from Friday Night Lights!
We saw a few terrible films too. Sadly, the two films Grant was able to see were pretty bad. We decided he is just bad movie luck.

It was wonderful to experience the festival with a fellow movie lover. Mom - you are so fun to vacation with! Let's do it again next year.
