The rest of the LR trip

As you can tell from the pictures below, the rest of the LR trip was full of lots of eating. We definitely were spoiled with amazing Persian food. I think it was in an effort to woo us back to Arkansas.

At Jim and Mahvash's house eating fesenjan (Persian chicken pomegranate and walnut stew).

Fesenjan and tadig.

Anna and Mahvash. Only in this family could I be taller than someone else in a photo!

We spent a night with Jennifer and Michael and I managed to not take any pictures of people, just food again. Hmmm, you can see where my priorities were.
Have you ever heard of an ebelskiver? Here is the special pan to make them.

And here are the ebelskivers! They are a light, puffy pancake that can be filled with fruit, chocolate, jam or cheese. Ours were filled with nutella.
Ali taught me how to make tachin. It is a Persian baked rice and chicken dish. It was amazing.
I think we have said this before, but seeing the kids make us realize how long we have been away. Lucas (4) and Elayna (2) are so much fun to be around. Uncle Grant even got to help build a fort with Lucas while we visited.
Uncle Grant quickly turned into a monster after the fort was created. Lucas and Elayna are in there for protection from the monster.

Breakfast with family.
Ali recently started up a new business called, Papa's Burgers and Dogs (www.papasburgersanddogs.com). He has an amazing mobile food concession trailer that specializes in making great burgers, hot dogs, corn dogs, and a variety of other carnival-style foods. He had an event on New Year's Eve, so we got to see him in action.
"Papa" at the grill.

Anna eating a killer funnel cake.

The crew.

And before we knew it, it was time to head back to SLC. Grant ended the trip with getting quite sick, but has finally recovered. I guess his body was upset to go back to the real world. Thanks for a wonderful trip, Arkansas!
