We have arrived safely in Italy! Luckily, we both slept on the plane and have adjusted easily to the time change. We didn't arrive until around 7:00 p.m. local time, so all we really did the first day is go and eat. It was so interesting how challenging it was not to speak the language. Many people speak English here, but it is hard not to be able to even say a simple phrase. It caught us off guard how nervous it made us. It took us forever to decide what to eat because we had to decode the menu.
The phrases we have learned so far are:
Hello/goodbye/good night
I don't speak Italian
Do you speak English?
Can we have the check please?
Pretty good, right? Ha ha. I hope we pick up a few more soon.
Here are some pictures our hotel (I Colli) in Florence.

| Hmmm...haven't tried the bidet yet. A little scared. |

We are so happy to be here. A vacation well earned!
