Oh man...

I'm so close to being done with intern year I can almost taste it. It tastes like...well, neurology actually...which in turn tastes like brains. Much to the dismay of people who enjoyed getting one year of cheap labor out of me, I am now COMPLETELY FINISHED with my short career in internal medicine. I have just finished my last day of internal medicine rotations (which was the inpatient cardiology rotation), and now I have only one month of inpatient neurology keeping me from what is sure to be 3 years of awesomeness.

(As it turns out, "awesomeness" may not be the best word possible to describe ANY residency program, but I had to pick a superlative word to illustrate the contrast between what I have come to dislike very much and what lies ahead). And, while I am in the disclaimer font, let me just mention that I am celebrating because the neurology rotation is not internal medicine. So I am technically done with internal medicine internship, although yes I am still an intern for one more month and yes people can still take advantage of me.

No offense to Dr. Moseley or any of the other internal medicine residents that may happen to be reading this blog (although I don't know where you'd find the time to do so in between all of your 5-hour rounds and calculating osmolal gaps and days of collecting what inevitably turns out to be useless information)...but I am a little bit glad to be done with internal medicine. Not as glad, though, as I am to be (almost) done with intern year, period.

I am glad that you are almost done with your turture year. You wouldn't be appreciating the next three years as much, if you hadn't gone through the last year.

Have fun and take it easy. It will be over before you know it. Can't wait to see you guys.

Love, Dad/Ali

i'm glad you had a better medicine experience than Steve...too bad you hate what my hubby loves! I mean who couldn't love spending the night at the hospital every 4th night and having awesome clinics?! You know you are going to miss it...ha!

You rarely ever complain about anything so I know this past year had to have been pretty bad. I bet you're 100% positive you chose the right field of medicine-not internal! Hope the next three years will be a great experience for you and Anna. You sure deserve it.
Can't wait to see you! Counting the days! Love ya, Mom/Sherry

Fine. Fine. Eat it up G-Mo. Just don't come crying to me when you get that UTI in the nursing home in 50 years and have no idea what to do about it.

Just kiddin bud. Glad your short stint with real medicine is coming to an end. Have fun with the lazers.
