Hottest ticket in town

I have had an alone day since Grant is on call. It was quite a diverse day and I thought worth sharing. Plus, if you stayed tuned, at the end of this post I will let you know what people in SLC do on a Saturday night for entertainment.

I started off the day by running the 5K part of the marathon. It wasn't my best running day, but I finished under 30 minutes which wasn't terrible. I then volunteered at a water booth for the marathoners for a few hours. I handed water to the man who actually won the race. It was glorious.
I then took lunch to Grant at the VA, it was quite romantic. Don't let anyone tell you that the VA isn't a nice place to take a date. Hearing patients cough and moan, soaking in the hospital smells, and seeing your date in a pair of scrubs is where it is at!

I then went home and finished a painting I have been working on for a while. It is based off a photo Grant took from the park down the street from our house.

And the hottest ticket in town was...the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Look at this line!!! A friend gave me a ticket to see the choir perform a great evening of various religious music. And you though I would be out at the clubs since Grant was gone. Wrong! It was actually a very moving concert.

I don't know to be impressed about running 5k or painting that beautiful picture. Either way, what a woman!!!

The VA is the place to be! I took Allen dinner at the UAB VA a couple weeks ago and when I walked in through the ER waiting room a very drunk/drugged man yelled at me, "About time you got here!" I wonder what he thought I was going to do to help him. He must've smelled the lovely Purple Onion Greek food I brought for the Mose.
