The lure of a grand baby was just too much for Mimi to take. After 33 years living in Austin, Millie packed up and headed to Little Rock. I just cannot express how much joy it brings me to live in the same city as my Mom. We have been talking about living near each other for years and years...and now it is a reality.
It took moving mountains to get her here. Grant and I were supposed to fly to Austin and help drive her moving truck. Mother Nature had another plan and Little Rock was hit with a horrible ice storm. We got stuck and it was hard not being able to help Millie move. But, as she always does, Millie persevered and drove up with her friend Babs a few days later.
Now she is settling into her little cottage just a few minutes away from our house. Life is pretty sweet right now.
