Getting Cheesy

I took on a big volunteer position this year. I chaired the Workd Cheese Dip Championship. Why cheese dip you might ask? This festival is put on by Harmony Health Clinic, the free health clinic in Little Rock. This clinic is so close to our hearts. Grant is on the board and runs their free ophthalmology program. Now I have a way to serve at Harmony. 

It was a wonderful feeling to use my past work experience in fundraising and special events. This event did take over my life for a few months. It was amazing and exhausting. In the end it was so worth the time I poured in. We raised $76,000. Over 7,500 people attended the event. We had 30 competitors making cheese dip and trying to win the coveted crown. 

I had an amazing volunteer committee and family support to help keep me moving.
