Washington DC Trip

Grant was kind enough to invite me, Miles, and Mimi to join him on a work trip to DC. Grant was busy presenting at the American Glaucoma Society meeting, but he managed to join us for a little bit of sight seeing. We tried to hit the big highlights and, of course, we barely skimmed the surface. Now we have to plan a return trip to see everything we missed. I was blown away by the hustle and bustle of the city. As we saw the great monuments around the city, I definitely felt a sense of American pride well up in me. We do live in a great country.

My ear was more interesting than the U.S. Capitol.

Miles LOVED the airplanes at the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum.

A gift from Mimi to remember the trip.

The morning we went sight seeing with Grant,  it was about 19 degrees out. Burr.

Miles likes anything involving transportation.

Talking to Daddy about the trucks.

Dollhouse at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History.

First dinosaur exposure.

Miles called them all, "alligators."

Lots of animals to see at the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History.

This might have been Mile's favorite part of the trip. He sat here for about an hour.  This truck was part of the Smithsonian's Postal Museum.

He wouldn't even take his eyes off the road for a picture.

Lots of buttons in the truck.

Grant and I went to walk around the monuments at night. It was so beautiful lit up at night.

The metro was quite an exciting experience for all of us.

Enjoying Mimi time at the mall.
And since Mimi was on the trip, Grant and I got to go out at night while she watched Miles. That was definitely a nice bonus.
