And here it begins

This week marks a huge change in my life. I officially finished work and am a stay at home mom. Well, really I am a stay at home "cat" mom until Miles arrives. This is a pretty big shift in my daily life. I have been in the work world full time for almost a quarter of my life. Waking up Monday and not going into work was strange. Although it was easy to say goodbye to my work projects, it was hard to say goodbye to my work family. I have been at my job for four years and built some amazing friendships. Luckily I can still see the people without doing the work.

After deciding that I wasn't going to take maternity leave, I realized that I could quit a few weeks before my due date and have some time to rest and prepare for Miles. This is the last time I will really have alone time for a while. I have really enjoyed the past two days. I am resting, nesting, cooking, and cleaning. It has been a joy to have time to actually do these things in a leisurely fashion.

I have also been working on some non-baby projects that I have had on my to do list for years. That feels really good. Today I cooked all sorts of wonderful dishes from our weekly local produce basket.

I now have 28 days until my due date. Next week marks 37 weeks which is technically full term. I will be so happy to reach that mark. Then Miles can come anytime he wants. I did pack my hospital bag yesterday. I am ready when he is. My Mom arrives this weekend to help with baby prep and relaxing. I can't wait for that trip.

Here is a cool belly shot that Grant took.

What a cute belly! You do pregnancy so well it's too bad that it's all over now :) Haha...just kidding with the "too bad" part.
