From 45 to 100 degrees

For Memorial Day, we headed back to the great state of Texas. When we left, it was 45 degrees in Salt Lake City, and when we arrived in Texas, a nice 100 degrees was there to meet us. Although that was a little hotter than we would have liked, it was nice to feel like Summer was on its way.

I arrived a few days before Grant and got some good Mother/Daughter time in.

Gourmet dinner and wine!

Dinner out at Ranch 616. Austin has more amazing restaurants than you can handle.

Morshedi favorite, Taco Express with the Loca Maria sculpture on the roof.

Taco Express migas. They definitely don't make these in the West.

We visited Mom's work and a celebration cake was waiting for us. Now that is a nice welcome.

I know Ali will like this. Austin is becoming a hot spot for gourmet food trailer vendors. Mighty Cone is part of a row of food trailers in the hit South Congress area.

Kathy and I went out for some wine tasting at Uncorked. So nice to visit with one of my BFFs.
Then Grant joined us on Saturday for Lily and Paul's wedding. Lily was one of the nine people I graduated with from high school. I have known her for over 17 years. Her wedding was out in the country on a bluff overlooking the Texas hill country.

My Waldorf peeps!

Beautiful Mom at the wedding.

Surviving the heat.

Classic lawn games at the wedding.

Got to catch up with my basketball coach and reminiscence about the roadrunners.
I will put the rest of the trip in a few more posts...
